The Kentucky Medical Services Foundation, Inc. (KMSF) was founded in 1978 with two primary missions that have guided its activities and focus for more than 35 years: To bolster efforts to recruit and retain the best clinicians to ensure the provision of high-quality health care for the region and the Commonwealth; To serve as a charitable organization to support the education, research, service and patient care missions of the University of Kentucky and UK HealthCare®.

Patient Services

It is our mission to provide a seamless patient service experience for all patient billing questions for the entire UKHealthcare system which includes hospital and physician services.

Human Resources

KMSF Human Resources develops and administers all HR programs, services and benefits for KMSF staff, as well as the administration of certain benefit programs for eligible UK physicians.

Revenue Cycle Management

Administrative and clinical functions that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of revenue associated with a patient care encounter.

Documentation/Coding Education

The KMSF Dept. of Professional Services Documentation and Coding Education, which formerly included Compliance related oversight, is designed to provide guidance and education regarding accurate and compliant documentation and coding of professional services.

Information Technology Services

KMSF Information Technology administers a broad range of programs and services.  We are dedicated to providing efficient, effective, quality services for KMSF staff as well as UK HealthCare.

Finance & Accounting

Finance and Accounting is responsible for the preparation of the financial statements of KMSF, general accounting, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, preparation of the tax returns, accounts payable services to KMSF and College of Medicine,  funds management, payroll services, real property and fixed asset management, arrangement of official business travel, payments applications and refunds.
